Picture location has moved

I’ve noticed some people are still looking for the pictures at the old location. I moved them to here

This is not the face of a happy baby

We have had a tough couple of days with William. He has been gassy, grumpy and hadn’t wanted to sleep at night. After discussing the problems with the doctor at his one month checkup they had us switch from the Enfamil Prosobee formula over to the Enfamil Nutramigen. So far we haven’t noticed any dramatic change but we are going to give it a couple of days. Since this formula is double the price of the Prosobee formula I’m expecting great results or we’ll be moving back to the cheaper formula. We also think that some of the issues may be from the oatmeal we are adding to the formula for the reflux. It’s a real guessing game. You try something for a couple of days and if it works then you go with it else you try something different. Its very frustrating but we know that it will get better.

As far as his one month visit, William is now ten pounds and is twenty one inches tall. It’s really amazing how much they grow in a couple of weeks.

New location for pictures and videos

I have been for the last 2 years using a dedicated server to host up the pictures and videos at mikeandmel.com but after looking around and pricing things I decided to move the pictures and videos to picasa( http://picasaweb.google.com/smithatlanta ).  This site allows me to put up movies in a format that everyone can view them (much like youtube ).  My mom as well as others had mentioned to me that they could never watch the videos but now they can. 

I also was able to save the $20/month fee for the server.  I now have 7 gig of space for pictures and videos and I pay $20/year for it. 

Another reason I decided to use picasa was that it integrates very well with the new Canon camera I bought Melanie for her birthday.  All she has to do is hook the camera up to the computer(via the usb cable) and picasa pops up and asks if she wants to pull the pictures off the camera.  She can then right click on the picture and send it to the picasa web site.  It works very well.

Baby is doing well

It’s been a little over 3 weeks now and we are all doing well.  William developed reflux after the second week but we have been giving him Zantac and weighting his formula down with oatmeal cereal and now he isn’t having any screaming fits after he eats.   For a day or so we thought he might have colic like Ashton but we were very, very relieved that it was reflux(not that we like that he has this either)

 Melanie is hanging tough watching William from 11:30 or so until the morning.  She usually goes to bed around 9 to get a little sleep and I watch William until after the 10:30 feeding which usually ends after 11.  I wish we could go ahead and move William into his crib but he has to sleep in the car carrier at night and Melanie worries about him choking(which luckily he hasn’t had that happen yet).  As soon as he out grows the reflux we will move him into his crib and hopefully we can rotate some of the feedings.

One noteworthy item is William has started to smile a little.  I haven’t been able to time it right to get a picture but I hope to get one up soon of his smiling little face.
