If you ever wondered why people don’t take Marta in Atlanta

I have used Marta fairly regularly to work for the last year or so and I gave back my monthly Marta pass for a parking spot a couple of months ago. Why? It wasn’t the trip to work that was the problem, it was the trip home. Why is that I can get from my house to work on Marta in about 45 minutes but it takes me double that to get home? Maybe it is the fact that the buses run on a regular schedule and the trains never do. I verified this by leaving work at the same time for 3 weeks and logging the arrival time of the train. The result was that the trains were never leaving at the same time. Wouldn’t logic dictate that a train would be easier to keep on schedule than a bus? Anyways this one of my venting posts since I decided to try Marta again today and I was once again met with an hour and a half trip home. Maybe one day Marta will get some type of technology that will let customers know when their train is arriving at the station remotely so they don’t have to waste their time.
