Congratulations Ray and Nancy

On the birth of you daughter Virginia!!!!! I know the next few months will be challenging as new parents but it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. We are here for you guys if you want to call us and ask any questions. Since we are just 5 months ahead of you, we(well Melanie more so than me) have alot of useful hints. We also have other possible references(Carl and Claire, Tim and Cathy, Daniel and Gretchen) to call if we can’t answer your questions. Once again Congratulations!!!!!!

Just sitting around contemplating….

I was just sitting around this evening listening to some Damien Rice and contemplating things since Melanie is down at my parents with Ashton. I was thinking about all the beliefs and thoughts I had when I was 21 and how they had changed quite a bit since then. I sometimes feel that my outlook on life is a little more negative than it was 10 or 15 years ago. I don’t know if I am getting more bitter with age or maybe I’m just stuck in a rut and it’s just affecting other things in my life. One thing lately that I think has gotten me out of that possible rut was the birth of our son, Ashton. I think sometimes God puts things in your life to shake things up so you get your priorities straight. I just hope God will give me the patience to control my negativeness and show Ashton how positive things in life can be. I know that the only memories I have of my childhood are good memories and I want him to sit back when he’s 36 like I am and reflect about how happy his memories of his childhood were. I guess I want to say that I hope I can do as good a job of bringing up Ashton as my parents did with me.

Congratulations Craig and Stephanie

This weekend Melanie and I went down to Jekyll Island to celebrate the wedding of one of my good friends from College to his new bride. As I drove down to Jekyll Island I thought about all that had transpired since Craig and I first met back in College. I remember many a weekend of going down to Piedmont park to roller blade and to throw the Aerobi(sp?) around. I remember going to play Volleyball one day and talking our friend Darren Gandy into going down a big hill on his day old roller blades. I still feel sorry about Darren falling and getting some nasty road rash. I remember us going out to the old Taco Mac over on Roswell Road to watch many a Braves game. I remember helping Craig move that damn( ) hide a bed couch up 3 stories to his apartment off of Clairmont. I still don’t know how we did it. I just want to thank Craig for some really good memories. It was nice to go down memory lane for a while.

I guess I basically want to congratulate Stephanie and Craig on their new marriage and I want to wish them the best. The wedding was one of the nicest I have ever been to and the backdrop for their vows was really incredible. It was very relaxing and I thought it was very well planned out. Thanks for letting Melanie and I be a part of your special day.
